Passengers of „Rīgas satiksme” prefer turning to driver in case of threat

A majority of „Rīgas satiksme” public transport passengers turn to public transport drivers when their safety or comfort is at risk, but many prefer to contact „Rīgas satiksme” via social networks or the Internet. This is evidenced by the results of an opinion poll carried out on „Rīgas satiksme” website in January 2014.

A bit more than a half of the respondents (56%) admitted that they prefer turning to driver when somebody threatens their safety or comfort. 12% prefer calling the State police by phone. Only a minority prefer calling „Rīgas satiksme” toll-free information phone 80001919 or contacting the company via social networks or the Internet (4% and 2%, accordingly). 26% of respondents said that this question does not concern them.

„Rīgas satiksme” reminds: if there is a person in public transport who disturbs or threatens other passengers, or wears dirty or stinky clothes, then for quick assistance passengers should turn to the driver or call the State police by phone number 110, which is more effective than contacting „Rīgas satiksme” via social networks or by e-mail!

There are special stickers in all „Rīgas satiksme” public transport vehicles informing what passengers shall do when    threatened or disturbed.
